About the Role
As a Senior Advisor, you will provide support, maintain and improve the delivery of a high-quality work programmes within the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP). This role sits within our Prevention directorate of NPHS and is a permanent, full-time opportunity.
Senior Advisors are mid-level advisors with strong subject matter expertise, writing and relationship skills capable of leading a project of work. In this role you will support the delivery of complex pieces of work. You will also drive continuous improvement in processes and practices within the team.
The role will have responsibilities across the screening pathway in key areas:
- Quality Improvement for technical solutions and training for the bowel screening register
- Machinery of Government – Information requests and Ministerial papers
- Support the delivery of portfolios
- Strong writing and analytical skills
About the Service
The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
As a Senior Advisor, you are confident working in a fast-paced environment and getting ‘stuck in' with a range of work. You have the ability to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands. You have proven experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification and/or equivalent experience with very good knowledge of how screening programmes work
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Experience in the health sector either at a clinical and/or advisor level
- Ability to manage relationships at all levels and across organisations fostering good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills to persuade and influence
- Thrives on pulling together clear ideas and conclusions from complex technical information; then communicating these in a manner that is understood by the audience.
