Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.7 FTE / 28 hours per week)

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Kapiti ORA team as an Allied Health Care Assistant. You will work in our lovely beach community under the direction and supervision of our skilled clinical team. Your day will involve a variety of administrative and patient-facing tasks, including home visits, equipment installation, equipment ordering and gym work. You'll work with a busy and supportive team who are committed to good patient care and supporting people to live their best lives at home.

About the Team/Service Location

The Kapiti ORA Team is based at the Kapiti Health Centre in Paraparaumu. We are a busy team of clinicians working to support people to stay well and functional in their own homes. We support both inpatient teams and GP practices with patient care and often work collaboratively with these health providers to promote patient wellbeing. We work primarily with people over 65 years often with frailty, progressive neurological conditions or post-stroke. We are a patient-centred team who consider equity of care in our practice and work closely with the wider community ORA teams across the Capital Coast and Hutt district.

About you

• To succeed in this role you will need to bring confidence and experience working in a healthcare setting. Ideally you'll have experience with frail elderly and be a good, clear communicator.
• You will have good computer skills as this role involves ordering equipment, and writing thoughtful and accurate patient notes
• You will be kind, calm and clear-headed. This role involves a degree of lone-working so it's important you have the confidence to engage well with families
• Have achieved a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance Strand or similar / relevant qualification or be willing to work towards this
