Checkout Operator / Customer Service Desk – Mitre 10 New Zealand
Join New Zealand’s leading home improvement retailer and help customers with purchases, enquiries, and in-store services in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You'll Do:
Operate checkout systems and process customer purchases accurately
Handle cash, EFTPOS, and account payments
Assist with returns, refunds, and exchanges
Provide friendly and helpful customer service
Answer store enquiries and direct customers to the right departments
Support loyalty programmes, promotions, and pricing queries
Balance daily cash and ensure transaction accuracy
Support the Customer Service Desk with:
Click & Collect orders
Special orders
Trade account queries
Gift cards and store services
Keep checkout and service areas clean and organised
Follow store policies, health & safety, and loss prevention procedures
What We're Looking For:
Strong customer service and communication skills
Basic computer and cash-handling ability
Friendly, patient, and confident personality
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work in a busy retail environment
Availability for weekends, evenings, and rotating shifts
Retail experience is an advantage but not required
