Medcall is a New Zealand healthcare staffing and recruitment company that connects nurses, caregivers, and health professionals with hospitals, aged care facilities, and community providers nationwide.
Experienced Support Worker provides person-centred care and support to people with disabilities, mental health conditions, older adults, or those requiring community or home-based assistance. The role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Job Summary:
Provide high-quality physical, emotional, and social support to clients in their homes or community settings. Assist individuals to live as independently as possible while following individual support plans and maintaining their health, safety, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver person-centred care based on individual support plans.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Support medication administration in accordance with organisational policies.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding where required.
- Help with household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
- Support clients to attend medical appointments, work, education, and community activities.
- Encourage independence and development of daily living skills.
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours or emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Follow health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.
- Mentor or support new staff when required.
Pay: $4,100.00 – $4,500.00 per month
