Digital Communication & Design Coordinator
Digital Communication & Design Coordinator
Job details
Full job description
Pinehurst School, a Year 1-13 private school in Auckland of 1100+ students, is looking for a talented Digital Communications and Design Coordinator to join our Brand, Marketing and Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on creative who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work across print and digital platforms.
Reporting to the Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications, you'll play an important role in delivering the school's digital communications, graphic design and creative content.
From creating engaging social media content and producing our weekly newsletter to designing publications, advertising and promotional materials, you'll help bring the Pinehurst brand to life across a wide range of channels.
You'll have an eye for a great story, proactively identifying opportunities to capture and share the everyday moments, learning experiences and achievements that showcase life at Pinehurst. You'll also be responsible for the coordination, design and production of our major school publications and help maintain our extensive digital media library.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across different creative projects, is confident using design and digital tools, and can balance creativity with accuracy, organisation and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce high-quality creative materials for school publications, marketing campaigns, print and digital advertising.
- Create, curate and publish engaging social media content several times a week, using photography, video and storytelling to connect with our community.
- Proactively identify and capture everyday school activities, learning experiences and achievements, turning these moments into compelling visual stories for our digital channels.
- Produce and distribute the weekly school newsletter, compile engaging stories for the school Newsroom, and support wider digital communications, including website content updates as required.
- Coordinate the design, layout and production of major school publications, including our School Magazine, Graduation Book and Annual Report.
- Organise and maintain digital media assets within established systems, following file naming, categorisation and archiving protocols.
- Apply Pinehurst's brand guidelines consistently across print and digital communications.
- Provide creative, design and communications support to the wider Marketing Team.
About You
We're looking for a creative, enthusiastic and technically capable individual who combines strong graphic design skills with a genuine passion for digital communications.
You'll bring:
- A minimum of two years' experience in a professional design studio, marketing or communications environment, with strong practical graphic design skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Confidence using WordPress, email marketing platforms such as Campaign Monitor, and Microsoft PowerPoint, across both Mac and Windows environments.
- A natural storytelling instinct, a creative eye and strong photography, social media content creation and video editing skills.
- Excellent written communication and proofreading skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills, initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- A collaborative, adaptable approach and the confidence to work with staff, students and the wider school community.
- Creative energy, curiosity and a willingness to contribute ideas while working within established brand guidelines.
Experience in an education environment would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
Above all, you'll be someone who enjoys getting things done, takes ownership of the quality of your work and brings fresh ideas, creative energy and a positive attitude to the team.
Please contact Christine Canfield, christine.canfield@pinehurst.school.nz if you have any questions.
