Full job description
ABOUT FABRUM
Fabrum has built a reputation for pioneering world-first technologies in cryogenics and hydrogen solutions, fuelled by our exceptional R&D capabilities. Now, we’re leveraging that innovative passion to take our solutions to the world.
Headquartered in Christchurch, we lead the world in industrialised small to medium scale liquefaction systems and composite cryogenic vessels. We deploy end-to-end liquid hydrogen solutions globally across heavy transport, mining, and aviation markets. Our core competencies include hydrogen production, storage, dispensing, and system integration. We also have an international presence in liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, and LNG solutions, supporting customers ranging from animal husbandry to hi-tech research institutions, manufacturing, and defence.
INTERNSHIP PROJECTS
We are looking for 5 Summer Interns this year. There are a bunch of exciting projects which we have lined up listed below. Each intern will be given ownership over their project and buddied with a mentor who will provide support and guidance.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
- Double diaphragm development
- Liquid cryogen pump development
Computer Studies Intern
- Use of automated learning to driving performance and service insights
Mechatronics/Controls Intern
- Standardised controls programming of multi-cryocooler systems
Mechanical/Computer Science Intern
- Automated production of system operating documents
Internships will run from mid-November to mid-February for a total of 400 hours. Fabrum will be closed for a couple of weeks over Christmas / New Years too.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic students who are passionate about developing solutions to help the world tread lightly.
We operate a very collaborative environment and value people who have good communication and teamwork skills, while being open to feedback and direction.
There's a lot of research which shows that some groups of people are less likely to apply for a role unless they are confident they meet 100% of the requirements. Fabrum is a growing company with a need for diversity of thought and experience. We want talented people who see the future as we do and that's much more important than ticking every box.
REQUIREMENTS
These internships are funded by business.govt.nz (formerly Callaghan Innovation), and students must meet the eligibility criteria for them. These include:
- Be currently enrolled in, or just graduated, study at a NZ-based tertiary institution
- Have the right to work in New Zealand
APPLICATION AND SELECTION
- Please upload a copy of your transcript to the 'Cover letter' section.
- If you wish to include a cover letter as well, please append this to your CV.
