He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Building Consent team is seeking a permanent, full‑time Regulatory Support Officer to join our Albany hub.
You will have the opportunity to use your solid organisational and administration skills to provide process support, ensuring the smooth running of our end-to-end consenting processes for our building consent department. This is a customer focused role that will allow you to be part of our hardworking and supportive team environment.

This is a role that sits in a fast-paced environment, tight deadlines and working at pace delivering quality outcomes.
Day-to-day you could expect to work on:
- To provide end-to-end support for all consenting applications under the Building Consent umbrella.
- Deliver high quality customer excellence to internal and external customers.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of regulatory consent data.
- Be responsible for handling all customer inquiries and complaints related to financial disputes, invoicing, and regulatory applications, to ensure satisfactory customer outcomes.

He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful in this role you will be system savvy, able to easily adapt to new technology, and have previous experience in administration. Your excellent communication skills will help you excel in this customer-focused role. A proactive nature along with your great attention to detail and understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc) will strengthen your application. Having a good understanding of building legislation and previous SAP experience would make your application stand out.
What we will be looking for:
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Minimum 4 years of previous experience in a business administration and Customer Service role.
- Confidence around working with complex databases and information.
- Experience managing financial account reconciliations & Customer disputes.
