Permanent Full-time role
Based in Wellington
Westpac is New Zealand’s market leader in delivering complex payments, technology and data solutions to business banking, institutional and government customers. We have a fantastic opportunity for a solution-oriented person who is a driver of change to join our Institutional Transactional Banking (TB) team.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
Your core responsibility will be developing an understanding of our clients’ businesses, allowing you to design and deliver initiatives that make a material difference. Based in our office in Auckland, you will work with both existing and new to bank clients, managing and growing a portfolio of customer relationships, utilising your deep knowledge of transactional banking and relentless focus on customer needs.
You will support and collaborate closely within the TB business and wider Institutional and Business Banking (“IBB”) to execute the TB strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader IBB goals, financial objectives and sound risk management. Working with senior management and customer delivery teams, you will be trusted as a subject matter expert who can deliver tangible value.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Generate new business with customers by meeting the customer’s strategic, working capital and transactional banking needs
-
Managing customer engagements where you’ll take the initiative to identify and execute opportunities that add value to our customers' businesses
-
Quality customer engagements, with quick turnaround and clear decision points - improving the customer experience with Westpac by simplifying and automating the customers' banking needs
-
Resolving customer issues proactively - working with customers on solutions that improve customers’ organisational performance, risk management and user experience
-
Implementing products and services to new and existing customers.
-
Contributing to positive NPS / CAS measures.
-
Confident to pitch and negotiate with customers, including all financial, risk and compliance matters.
-
Clear focus on pricing governance, ROTE and overall performance at customer and product level.
-
Operate in a high-performance culture. You'll positively contribute to the TB team, influence and collaborate across Westpac to get the right outcomes.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
You will bring deep subject matter knowledge across banking, transactional, payments, data and associated products, combined with demonstrated experience improving NPS, risk and pricing. Proven customer management experience with business customers at various levels while being able to work in an ever-changing environment is imperative. You will bring the ability to work remotely across geographic teams and as part of a virtual team, combined with customer and delivery experience, and problem solving in complex organisations.
You are commercial, with experience working in the operation of businesses, which you use to develop and present solutions that meet your clients' needs. This is a fantastic opportunity if you have a strong work ethic, solution mindset, a keen attention to detail and enjoy contributing to your team.
