About the Role
As part of the Primary Care Pathway programme, we invite all who are interested in House Officer full-time positions at Health NZ (Nelson Marlborough). These positions are suitable for PGY1 from NZ or overseas and commence in October 2026.
As a House Officer, you will provide care and treatment to patients entering the GP Practice and other patients who require to be seen. You'll work with patients and their families to communicate and implement care management plans and monitor these as the clinical conditions of patients change.
You'll be exposed to work experience in the community or ambulatory care. Training will be provided focusing on patient-centred care, evidence-based medicine and dealing with the uncertainty or management of long-term conditions.
The hours are 8.00AM to 4.00PM daily with long days 4.00PM to 10.00PM. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are 8.00AM to 8.00PM both days. Admission shifts 2.30PM to 10.30PM.
No on-call and no additional duties required.

Our team of 50 House Officers within 120 RMO's work together to provide team based services to the patients of Nelson Marlborough.

About you
As a House Officer, you:
- Need to be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand,
- Need to meet Immigration New Zealand requirements to be eligible to live and work in New Zealand,
- Will enjoy being part of a team, and contribute your medical knowledge across all disciplines,
The successful applicant must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
