Auckland City, Auckland

Full job description

Love hospitality, events and the thrill of winning new business?

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow the functions and events business across our Auckland venue portfolio.

This is a role for someone who loves getting out there, building relationships, opening doors and turning conversations into bookings.

You’ll work across our Auckland venues, connecting with corporate clients, event organisers, PCOs and industry partners to showcase our spaces, generate new opportunities and keep clients coming back.

If you know Auckland, understand hospitality and events, and get a buzz from chasing targets and landing business — we want to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Proactively identify and secure new function and event business across our Auckland venues
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, PCOs, industry partners and key customers
  • Grow function revenue through strategic business development
  • Work closely with venue teams to identify and maximise opportunities
  • Showcase our venues and find creative ways to attract new and repeat business
  • Build a strong pipeline and turn leads into long-term client relationships

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is commercial, confident and genuinely great with people.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience across sales, hospitality, events or business development
  • A strong understanding of the functions and weddings market
  • A track record of working towards sales and revenue targets
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
  • Confidence communicating, presenting and negotiating with clients
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Hospitality venue experience would be a big plus

Why this role?

You’re not selling one space or one venue.

You’ll have an Auckland portfolio to work with, giving you plenty of options to match clients with the right venue and create opportunities across the group.

It’s a chance to combine hospitality + events + sales in a role where you can genuinely see the impact of the business you bring through the doors.

Sound like you?

If you’re a natural relationship builder who knows how to find the opportunity, make the connection and close the deal, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now and help us grow the next chapter of our Auckland functions business.
