Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

About Us

Redwooddot Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead the daily operations of our hospitality business. We are looking for a dedicated hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, direct and control the overall operations of the restaurant.
  • Recruit, train, supervise and motivate front-of-house staff.
  • Develop staff rosters and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and professionally resolve customer complaints.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Manage cash handling, banking and daily reconciliations.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders and liaise with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with New Zealand food safety, health and safety, and employment legislation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve sales, productivity and profitability.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
  • Prepare operational reports and assist the directors with achieving business objectives.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must have:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Duty Manager in a hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience managing restaurant operations, staff supervision and cash handling.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand food safety and health and safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
