Restaurant Manager

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

Pay: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy hospitality business. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing staff, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, and ensuring the efficient operation of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the restaurant.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and roster staff.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
  • Monitor sales, control costs, and assist in achieving business objectives.
  • Manage stock control, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and liquor licensing requirements.
  • Oversee cash handling, banking, and daily reporting.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant hospitality industry experience.
  • A New Zealand qualification.
  • A current LCQ (Licence Controller Qualification).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Applicants who rely on an English language test to meet employment or visa requirements must have an IELTS overall score of at least 6.5 (or an equivalent accepted English language qualification).

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, health and safety, and hospitality operations.
