Salary: Low $63,395 – Mid $79,295
As a Placement Coordinator for Ngā Poutoko Whakarara Oranga (Bachelor of Bicultural Social Work), you will:
- Source and coordinate quality fieldwork placements for social work tauira, ensuring placements align with learning outcomes and professional requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with social work agencies, community organisations, iwi, hapū and other key stakeholders to create positive placement opportunities.
- Support tauira throughout their practicum journey, from placement preparation through to successful completion, providing guidance and advocacy when needed.
- Coordinate professional supervision and training for placement supervisors, helping to ensure safe, effective and culturally responsive learning environments.
- Contribute to teaching and learner support activities, helping tauira understand practicum requirements, professional expectations and pathways to success.
- Manage placement administration and reporting, including agreements, progress monitoring, record keeping and stakeholder communication
Mōu | About you
We are looking for someone has the following:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field and current registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB).
- Experience in a similar role, with well-established networks across the social services sector and wider community.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with agencies, tauira, whānau and community stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, planning and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple placements and priorities simultaneously.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, Māori values, Ngā Takepū and kaupapa Māori approaches to education and social services.
- Teaching, coaching or facilitation experience would be an advantage, along with a Level 5 teaching qualification.
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
