Great Company

OverallThis company was filled with so much talent. I was really able to rapidly grow with the tenure I was surrounded by and now use that in a much larger corporation

Company is gone

this was a wonderful company to work for, but they have closed their doors permanently. So sad to see it go- they were bought out by the Evil Empire, simply to shut it all down- over 12000 people out of a job, all so the Evil Empire could claim that they are number one...

Excellent Company

Was an awesome experience while it lasted. I miss this company so much. Wish it didn’t end as it did. The company has great potential and leadership gave up to soon.

General manager

● Work-life balanceThe absolute worst place I ever worked. The upper magement is a good ol boys club that only cares about taking care of their group. If you offer any suggestions outside of their directives you are made fun of. They care less about their customers and even less about their employees.● Pay & benefitsKept getting smaller every year.● ManagementCorporate management was not professional.● OverallRun away! Do not work their. They don't care about their employees or customers. Growth is non existent and you will be constantly beaten down. Owners don't care!

Sold off

Company was sold and put thousands of employees out of work. Severe lack in benefits being honored and no severance pay offered. Complete lack of respect for many hardworking and loyal people who did nothing but good for the company

screws you every chance they get

started out vibrant and promising. then discovered the many streings attached to being bonus eligible. yes, there was bonus potential... kind of... goals and metrics were so unattainable or would be changed midway through... anything to just not have to pay hard working GMs a bonus. expected GMs to work 50 to 60 or more hrs per week... year round. couldn't figure out how to run a distribution center to save their lives.

AC Moore was a great organization full of great people and great customers.

AC Moore was a great company to work for. I am very sad that they have sold the organization. AC Moore gave you the opportunity to be entrepreneurial in spirit and focused on your goals.

Positive experiences overall. Had a great working relationship with members of home office and supervisors. It is sad to see that AC Moore will be closing all locations.

The company has been sold

The company has now been sold. This company was truly something different in the retail world. All of our associates and our valued customers will be grwatly missed.

Major Change Happening

Very difficult to get ahead. Constant turnover in upper management positions, no ability to create rapport. Some turnover has resulted in re-hiring of former team members. A lot of questions. Can't get out of their own way. Fighting uphill battles. Be warned.

Fun place to be creative

If you like to craft you will love ACMoore. You are encouraged to be creative while upholding the store brand. You do need to follow the store structure and standard operating policies, but encouraged to have fun,

Have fun, be creative, network, charitable

GM is the only exempt position so you work holidays

Poor work/life balance/ no advancement

Poor work life balance, severe lack of training and too many people asking for different things all at once. Company does not pay attention to the employees and morale.

Under the current management group this is not a good place to be it use to be a good place to work but now they try to squeeze every last thing they can out of all aspects of the team.

fun job but corporate kills the craftyness

this job sucks out your creativity and spits it into the trash. puts a lot of effort in cheap prefab gimmick items and cuts back on true crafty products. cares more about reward card sign ups than customer focused employees. they also destroyed one of the best frame shops in virginia

fun people, cheap art supplies

corporate, card quotas

Basic retail at its core.

A.C. compensates their management team well. However, there is very little opportunity for anything above base salary. Advancement above the General Manager level is nearly impossible. Their is a family culture that is spoken and preached, however, it commonly does not line up with direction of company. As a GM you are responsible for all aspects of the building.

Personal Business impact, Salary, Type of work, Customers, staff members

Constant changing direction, Stress due to poor corporate planning
