Avoid This Company

Also known as Oltec Group FM. Low wages not always paid on time (if the payday falls on a weekend or bank holiday you receive your wages the next working day). Management don't have a clue what they are doing and if your face don't fit they will get rid of you for petty reasons. Probably the worst company I have ever worked for.

Rude management, lone working, poor pay

Monitor CCTV - Prevent loss of stock Disposing of faulty, damaged or out of date stock Conduct searches on staff Deter or catch shop lifters The correct way to approach a person and how to react safetly and correctly to any situation that could be threatening Working along side the management team for the store I was based in was a fun experiance and I was always asked to help out with tasks they might need. But the Area Manager was imature and would ring up cursing and threatening if something wasnt to his liking Lone working - With the retail shop very female oriented with staff it was down to myself to deal with any serious incidents and sometime attempt to detain multiple suspects Working with the staff in store was definately the most enjoyable aspect of the job and also pride of monitoring and then detaining shop lifters so that they are unable to return in the future

Pros

knowing your protecting and supporting a business

Cons

no advancements, poor wages

security officer

As a security officer, my work involved opening and closing of the premises, pro-actively ensuring the protection of merchandise, property and assets as well as creating a safe and comfortable working environment for employees and visitors. Immediately respond to security violations, alarms, and other emergency situations. Responsible for Health and Safety. Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality at all times. A typical day at work included patrolling the shopping area, responding to emergency situations as they arise and preventing and detecting offences on site. Providing a high-profile presence in the shop floor, monitoring the facility to prevent loss and ensure the full protection of occupants. Arranging the escort of large amounts of money around the store. I would produce written reports to update management on all security matters on a daily basis. The hardest part of the job is being on your feet for six hours or more, prevention of theft, the suspect resisting arrest and working alone on the shop floor when your co-worker not present. The most enjoyable part of the job was the friendly staff, the freedom to talk to people, moving around in most places within the shop floor and meeting different people.
