Clients are lovely. Besides the Clients being great the bullying and favouritism make Afford the worst place I have ever worked!!! Management are not interested at any level
Pros
Free recognised training which really helped

No one will acknowledge any real concerns or they won’t keep their jobs

great to work with amazing clients
Disability Support Worker (Current Employee) - Green Valley NSW - 24 May 2020
go in make clients happy and go home. everything is about helping clients. Making clients smile and interacting with them seeing how they can use their senses is rewarding

income/job security
Lifestyle Assistant (Current Employee) - All Sydney NSW - 23 April 2020
Decent pay, not a job you can develop too far into. good as a secondary source of income, would not rely on primary work as job security is not too great
Pros
decent hourly rate, good hours, work is everywhere
Cons
poor management team, poor job security, not enough training

Dont work for this company if you need job security . Short hours and less contract hours . Poor management.
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Sydney Western Suburbs NSW - 23 December 2019
This company is all for the dollars . Team leaders are given unrealistic targets to meet . Support workers gets suspended for anything . No caution letters no warning . No permanency after 2yrs working
Staff are given small contract of 30hrs .
They promise reimbursements and bonus which is a lie as well as boasting of higher pay rate .
No job security .
Don’t apply to work with this company .
Is a waist of time .
Pros
Free certificate IV training.
Cons
No job security . Less hours

Caring,Team oriented, Productive & Happy place to work
Volunteer Support Worker (Current Employee) - Campbelltown NSW - 3 June 2018
Clients/participants at the centre of everything they do. Always caring & finding ways to assist people with their goals & aspirations. Go right out of their way! Like all places some workers care more than others, but majority work really well together. So sorry I have family working there already & study work placement only, as have "no family hiring" policy. Only downer! Thanks for the learnings Afford, I really appreciate my time spent with you, however short- 5 mths.
Pros
Team work
Cons
No family hire policy

Support of individual with disabilities
Disability support worker (Former Employee) - Sydney - 1 May 2015
Overall it is a rewarding job. To assist these individuals as most appear to appreciate any little task that is for them. They have a great sense of humour. Time management is a major part if working in this industry. And team work is essential. Hardest part of this job is when i one of my guys passed away. And the individuals will teach you something new every day, as one day is never the san=me as the next.
Pros
Enjoying the spirit of the individuals
Cons
Losing one
