okay
Navigator (Former Employee) - Auckland City, Auckland - 27 September 2022
Working with students is my favourite part of it. However things are sometimes based on favouritism. I do wish that everyone was treated fairly and were given an opportunity to use the skills and quality that they had.

A generally good place to work
Lecturer (Former Employee) - NZ - 11 February 2020
Teaching is high quality, but staff are overworked. Not much work/life balance is expected. Some great pockets of valuable research and researchers. Generally, a good place to work.

Good place to work
Lecturer (Current Employee) - Auckland, New Zealand - 22 January 2020
It's a good place to work with a good life/work balance.
Got opportunities for professional development. But not fairly recognizing the efforts of contract staff. Govt. rules say that if you have been working on a contract basis for two years you should be offered a permanent position. But usually, managers play all the games by moving you in and out from a fixed-term to causal basis and no one is looking over this. This caused a lot of frustration and feeling of insecurity to the contract employees

Relaxed culture. Being a University adminstrative affairs tend to be very slow.
Research Officer (Former Employee) - Auckland New Zealand - 20 November 2019
I found this to be a collaborative, supportive, and relaxed environment to work in. I was surrounded by smart capable people which I found stimulating. The largest downside was administrative overheads that come with being a large university.

Very productive and academic environment
Auckland - Manukau (Current Employee) - Auckland - Manukau - 5 November 2018
A typical day is when I deal with less English speaking person with an angry attitude, I need a lot of patience and communication according to the client like writing down needs instead of talking. The workplace has a flexible management in further helping to search for a language connect person who speaks the same language. It helps lessen the time and serve the client within the time frame.
The enjoyable time at work is that I can interact often with a range of diverse people and learn about different cultures and different language every day
Pros
Free coffee and tea and socialize environment or getting to know who you work with
Cons
None
