The full refurbishment should be completed by mid-2020.
Late November 2019, David Jones opened our first store in Newmarket, Auckland, our second international location following the opening of our Wellington store in 2016.
Anchoring the NZ$790m Westfield Newmarket redevelopment, David Jones Newmarket features an innovative store design and highly anticipated range of international fashion and accessories brands, in addition to a number of leading new New Zealand labels.
The partnership between David Jones and BP - two iconic household brands - combines David Jones Food’s exclusive, high-quality product range with BP’s global expertise in convenience retailing and national footprint, giving customers access to locally sourced, ready-made meals and other fresh, quality offers at selected BP sites.
We have three sites now open in Victoria with three further partner stores are scheduled to open in Melbourne from now through to March 2020 in Brighton, Clarendon and Greensborough. Five sites are earmarked to open in Sydney from February to April 2020, in suburbs Rozelle, Artarmon, Kingsford, Ashfield and Mosman.

Our first store opened in Sydney in 1838 and since then we have grown to 44 stores and a fulfilment centre, with plans to continue to open additional stores in the future. In 2014 we were acquired by Woolworths Holdings Limited (WHL), a South African-based retailer with operations across the Southern Hemisphere. WHL consists of three main operating divisions including David Jones. The others are Woolworths South Africa, based in South Africa and operating across 11 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, and Country Road Group and their brands Country Road, Trenery, Witchery, Mimco and Politix.
