Housekeeping Room Attendant (Former Employee) –  Holland, MI16 December 2019
Good place to work it is very busy in the summer time. Winter time not as busy but you do get a lot of children’s traveling teams which can be a messy thing

A place to work and travel
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) –  Holland, MI30 January 2018
This location is different then most hotels. The hotel is busy in the summers and begins to pick up in the spring. That is when you are allowed overtime. The benefits of hotel discounts are so nice! The are always changing it to work better for employees. It can be stressful at times but fun at times too. They pay scale is a little weird. Great place to work over all.
Cons
High turn over even in management

Front Desk Attendant and Housekeeper (Current Employee) –  Holland, MI13 December 2017
The job itself is not what keeps you there, but the people. If you enjoy this kind of work then you it will be a perfect fit. If it is not something you love, you may struggle.

Fun workplace and room for advancement.
Front Office Manager & Maintenance (Former Employee) –  Holland, MI20 December 2012
A typical day at Doubletree's front desk/office would first start off balancing revenue to ensure all money was accounted for. Throughout the day you would be taking reservations, checking guest in ant out of rooms, and assisting guests with any needs they may have. For maintenance, you would start buy getting the work orders for the day to see what repairs need to be done. Throughout the day in the maintenance department you would balance pool & spa chemicals, repair and replace light fixtures, outlets, and air conditioners, painting, and drywall repair. The hardest part of my job at Doubletree would have to be resisting to purchase food at the in house restaurant. I most enjoyed interacting with new people everyday.
Pros
fun workplace, good hours, getting to meet new people everyday
Cons
worked a lot of holidays (christmas, thanksgiving, ect)

No benefits, no raises, no advancement
Bar Manager (Current Employee) –  Holland, MI30 March 2012
There are very limited advancement opportunities within this company. Some people have worked there for 3 years and never received a raise. People get promotions with little or no raise. There are rumors of benefits but the employer keeps stalling on the information.

The mid-level management is great. The corporate management are never visible and seem to make decisions from afar that negatively affect all the employees. The mid-level managers are put under so much pressure to provide results that it impacts the business in a negative way and will eventually cause the business to fail.

The most enjoyable part of my job is the people I work with. Even though there are virtually no benefits and no raises, people that work there remain loyal and seem to try to keep morale high.
Pros
great discount on all hilton hotels
Cons
no benefits, no raises, no advancement
