Many of the managers did not communicate among themselves and thus many opposing expectations were given. Overall fun environment with room to grow. Fast paced especially on group checkouts. Must be organized and plan accordingly on those days.
Working at doubletree was a overall great experience the employees are kind and caring. If a guest has any problem during their stay at the doubletree the employees will try their best to fix that problem.
Working in Hospitality is not the easy job everyone assumes. It is a very fast paced environment with a lot of moving parts. Multi-tasking is key, and you cannot take it personally when a guest is yelling at you about an issue they had. You are the face of the hotel, and even if what concerns them has nothing to do with you, you must maintain a professional demeanor and respond accordingly so that the guest feels as though you are doing everything possible to take care of them.
This workplace is basically like any other hotel, it has the same norms and same everyday service like any other hotel. The guests can be a little bit challenging but it is very normal once you get used to it.
It would be a great place to work if they got rid of the managers that are currently there!!! Favoritism is rampid there. The managers treat their employees with no respect. Not a great place to work. Gave me high blood pressure.
I began working at the DoubleTree as a busser and was given an opportunity to advance into several different positions after showing initiative. It can be a great stepping stone into something bigger or even a comfortable place for someone seeking part time employment. The Hilton benefits are also an extra incentive to become an asset for this company.
I worked there approximately 4+ yrs. The F&B Director moved over to an AGM role, which left that position vacant. After many weeks of inquiring about the F&B Director position, I was told by the Assistant HR Director (in random conversation) that the position was being eliminated. I was very disappointed with the lack of communication from the leadership of the hotel
