Currently work there for agency

Indeed Featured review

Currently work there for agency do not feel like agency staff are treated fairly staff and not required to take a lunch break on a five or six hour shift which I think is not fair as the job requires a lot of energy muscle and concentration overall is a good place mixture of culture and everyone gets on as a community management just needs a bit of restructuring

Some of supervisors there haven’t got a clue how to do the hob

You start off with a good pay there then have your rate cut every year you’re there as your route gets busierSo you end up working harder for less money

Cons

The less you do the better you’re pay rate

Inadequate

Once you left the depot with your packages, they didn't care how you delivered them, or how long it took. Just get them delivered and don't bring any back!!

Pros

Work on your own initiative.

Cons

Long hours and poor management people skills. No in-job training whatsoever!!!

Long hours , bad management etc

Promise of a route which was taken away from me and then given scraps from all different postcodes Which resulted in extra driving hours and more expensive days and wear and tear.On average u are working 12-14h a day for 90£ and any complaints from customers u are paying from your pocket and so on . Worst place to work

Just a number

Took job after being given a full time / permanent contract. Left my other job of 7 years . After the Christmas period was over they laid off all staff that were still on probation and other staff . Then doubled work load of the staff kept on . Staff are paid a set salary regardless of hours worked

Pros

None

Work elsewhere

Having worked for a few multidrop next day companies, I gave dpd a shot, and boy was I treated worse than anywhere else. No support from the minute they release you to flog out on your own, unless you’ve got etas failing. Vehicles constantly checked which is a good thing, but getting served notice for damage caused by warehouse staff was a regular occurrence and had to be paid for by the driver. Pay scale has never been increased despite the constant demand increase. Absolute shocking treatment to anyone who suffers mental health problems because the only thing that matters is getting routes covered or parcels sorted.

Pros

Complete faith no one will break any road laws such as smoking in the van/speeding etc

Cons

Mentally and physically draining with zero support.

Stressful and bad management

Stressful from as soon as you turn up with managers rushing you to get out the door and if you take longer than they expect, which is completely out of your hands if the parcels aren’t at your bay then they stand you down for a day or 2 depending on how they’re feeling that day. They force you to take so much bulk regardless of weight restrictions for road safety. Very bad management

Great staff, bad management

Company as a whole is good. Depends on which depot you work at, it can be very challenging. Driver’s are rude. Bad management!! They force you to do stuff you don’t like.

Pros

Occasionally the manger will buy you food of he feels like it.

Cons

Bad management.

Good job

Been at DPD through the agency. Easiest HGV job about. Relaxed and just trunking work. Most 1 collection a day. Old trucks but that never bothered me.

Pros

Good crew of people, relaxed. Not stressful at all

Cons

Really strict on some silly rules

Not a very good work place.

No interview or training just thrown into it an taught by whoever is there, fairly easy once you have the hang of it. Very long shifts with no stops..

Pros

Always leave early with full pay.

Cons

30 min break even for a 12hr shift. No kettle, toaster or microwave, so no warm food or drink. Staff aren’t the nicest.
