The hotel has long history and policy and procedure need revolution and lack of sufficient training time and qualified trainer. All division head or department head must walk on the floor and observation anything service by associates and rectify it if necessary ! Focus on training whatever through case study or sense of service!

Competition amongst staff

Would not recommend this company to work for. Too many entitled backgrounds within the company. Very stressful environment and old school methods that just don't work.

Very friendly atmosphere

In Fairmont family they take care of you like a family, they help you get your well polished, they will conduct training to help you move forward, they will show you the stairs and its your will move forward.

Great place to work to live in Whistler

Easy staff housing, Easy open door policy, easy to live day to day, if your in your early 20's and want to be giving a great place to socialize with a respectable and high standards work place, come work here for a season.

Gaudy work environment with a lack of compassionate leaders. Will need to brown nose in order to succeed or ever get promoted there. Best of luck to you

Not a good place to work

The pay was terrible. You never got a raise. If you were friends with the head housekeeper she gave you the best rooms. It was a long drive to get there and it wasnt worth the pay and the games you had to deal with.

Extremely misleading company

Make sure you know what you signed up for. This company will use and abuse you, break your spirit and make you question your morality. They put on a good facade however they are not as they seem.

Benefits and job security are great

I worked here in 2019 and overall was great experience however lack of staff and management who didn’t seem to have proper experience and or training made job very difficult. Location I worked at was pretty isolating unfortunately and having separation from your job seemed impossible at best of times.

Good job and great benefits

Starting working here as a seasonal job but ended up staying for 2 years. Sometimes it was long hours and very exhausting but there was a great team morale when I was there! The benefits and staff food were great too.

A good place to be and stay

Overall a great company with a great culture. Pay is decent enough for what it is pending on specific job and we have a comprehensive benefits package as well.

This seems like a great place to work at first, but make no mistake, upper management will throw you under the bus to save their own behind. Not worth it!

Chaotic at times - could be turned around

I’ve been with the company for less than six months, and while I am used to the hospitality industry this particular property has problems on a whole different scale than the two precious properties I have worked at in the past. Most of the problems however, could easily be managed if the mother company of Fairmont, aka Accor, would actually invest in their employees health and well-being as well as the building itself. Most of our problems are due to poor management and a company that refuses to maintain and invest. If they did they could easily see it at the bottom line within a short period of time.

Great place to work, it tends to get busy during the summer, however the team is great and I feeling valuable. Highly recommend if you want to make money and build a career

Best employer in the bow valley

Productive and fun place to work , good work life balance , great culture best company to work for. Benefits and staff appreciation is next to none.

Productive workplace. With a high value and respect in every colleagues.

A place to work with integrety. Learning more experience to improve guest interactions and problem solving. Management is taking care every employee. The most enjoyable part of the job is when the hotel is full occupancy every colleagues is open arms to help each other and extend more hours to make the hotel operations smooth and perfectly.
