Plate is always full, not a flat rate shop. Self motivation is what will make you or break you, since you literally run the shop in its entirety. You fix trucks with a blank check, but spending is sometimes restricted, and all parts are ordered from preferred vendors in other states. If you aren't motivated/energetic, this will overwhelm you with paperwork, scheduling outside repairs, ordering parts, filling out RO's, conference calls, daily write ups, endless training videos, and then diagnosing and repair trucks. It's a job, but you won't find better pay and benefits, except UPS, which I was told to be a little more, with union dues. FedEx is non-union. I was flat rate for about 12 years, hopefully never again
Pros
Pay is top tier, benefits as well.
Cons
Tons of red tape
