Weddings Galore!

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I really enjoy this job and it's very rewarding as I deal with mostly brides/groom, and brides/grooms mother's. Getting to speak with them and/or meet them long before their event and then feeling their tension and excitement leading up to the big day is my favorite part. I learned a lot about sales and customer service while dealing with team involvement and the front desk as well. The hardest part of this job is getting the backlash from something that wasn't my fault, such as a mistake that the front desk made.

Pros

Great employee travel rate

Cons

Position has been changed from full-time to part-time

It was okay

It’s best to do your work and go home. Too much gossiping especially from the GM and their assistant. Hotel was kept up somewhat but they had mold issues as well

Very pleasant hotel staff

I’ve been in the hospitality industry almost 4 years, there is something about Hampton, the Hilton that is unique and very to me there’s really nothing hard to do because I work with passion, and the management is very professional and ethical

Pros

Discounted rooms

Cons

There’s really no break from the front desk

Laid back environment

A laid back environment. They have friendly staff. Management is flexible. Management was understanding when home situations arose. Good home life balance.

Pros

Friendly staff

Cons

Lack of hours

Very easy laid back job

You’re chilling all night, doing what u would do at home but just at work. They pay is fair because you’re doing nothing all night. Simple simple simple.

It depends on the ownership how your time at the company goes. My hotel owners are very cheap!

Hotel owners are very cheap. They do not offer PTO until after 2 years of employment and that is the only benefit they offer besides room discounts. They do not care about employees. Only their profit. They consistently cut our hours.

Pros

I can't think of any pros except my co-workers and my general manager.

Cons

Owners are rude and inconsiderate, they want you to work for minimal pay, and breath down your neck all the time if you're not getting rooms down in 30 minutes or less.

Great coworkers

Miami is a great place to work in with amazing coworkers. Although the cost of living is high, it is still manageable on an entry-level salary if you commute to work. The job provides a great opportunity to learn and grow quickly, and you can earn certificates that can be useful if you decide to move on to other companies. The upper management is fantastic and supportive.

Stressful place to work

What is the best part of working at the company? Not much positive. General manager changed job description alotWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Management very fickle. Constant changing of job description. Hired on as breakfast help, was waitress before I quitWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company? To liberal. Homeless were allowed to come in to breakfast area and were supposed to be ignored. Not a good look for customers. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Depending on department managers attitude that day

Drama

Good job. People there caused alot of drama. Be it the guests or the employees.Employees brought too much of their homelife into the workplace. Guests were either extremely kind or the epitome of evil.

Pros

Discounted hotel rooms through travel program.

Cons

Drama, no time off unless requessted very far in advance.

Easy

This position is easy and it’s part time. Sometimes it can be hard but it’s easy to do. They change management often but they try their best. You get trained as well and it’s not hard.

Very stressful for me and too much favoritism

What is the best part of working at the company? Some of the other employees. The one's that came along and helped out. I felt like I was being hazed. In other words, all the things they inquired is to do, wasn't being done by some, and I was given the rooms that weren't done properly. When I did what was asked, I was falling behind on time. The supervisor at that time was always going behind me checking, and getting on me about time, but the others were out the rooms in 10 or 15 minutes. If they were doing everything, I wouldn't be doing it all. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Doing everything that was required on the list in a few minutes time. But always getting flagged on time spent trying to uphold the standards What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The environment was stressful for meWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?I went in and would be given rooms that they knew wasn't being done properly. Some wasn't even putting new covers on or bed covers because there would be old stains still there. I felt the favoritism.

Great if you're older

The position is great and you get to meet a lot of cool people. The issue is if you're a college student or in your 20's, they will definitely take advantage of you. "Part-time" position but they force you to take full-time hours, there's no flexibility for school needs either. Not a bad gig for other people, but if you're younger, don't bother.

I cried all the way there because I hated the low paying non benefit job in grateful job with no breaks. not even to have a bathroom break.

What is the best part of working at the company?Going home Other employees. That's it!What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Nothing ever working or fixed. No benefits no performance rewardsWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Loved everyone I worked with. Didn't love out dated tech and bad Hilton pep system. It never worked. Old beds, old tvs pool door never worked, key system never worked. Ice machines 4floors only 2 ice machines worked no take out ventilation so smoke alarms were sent off by showers and of course it was all my fault. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Standing at front desk checking in anywhere from 25 - 60 check ins. Handling complaints. Fixing t.v s fixing heaters tripping electrical breakers opening pool door because it doesn't work all while making reservations checking guests in and handling suite shop baking cookies and customers service with a smile

Good management and coworking team

Really enjoyed working with the Pikeville Hampton team. Guests were, for the most part, wonderful. Pay could've been better, but management was very accommodating.
