Theatre Assistant (Former Employee) –  Operating Thaetres6 September 2012
Check daily requirement for speciality equipment used for scheduled surgeries,i.e. implant or limb/body supports to keep surgery schedules flowing.
Patient transfers pre-op and post-op
Clean theatre areas and equipment after each operation adhering to strict hygiene standards – full clean after contagious alerts.
Ordering for bulk theatre supplies
Relieved the surgical inplant and instrument department, ordering required Orthopaedic and specialist instruments and inplants
Assist surgeons in positioning and holding limbs before and during operations
Being present during long procedures to roll or reposition patients
Continually restock theatre consumables (checking date sensitive) wound covers, consumables, oxygen bottles and resuscitation equipment
Check delivery of ordered equipment and inplant requirements for procedures
When required set up theatre beds and equipment for specific operations.

Taking blood samples and other medical requests to pathology and the hospital labs, retrieve bloods and plasmas when required.

Organise and deliver timely services to hospital
