I have worked for this company for 5 years. Recently, I fell ill with possible COVID-19 and I found out that Kindercare is not following federal and state regulations around sick pay. They literally do not care about their minimum wage workers. I'm currently looking for new employment. I can't stand the culture of this company anymore.
You get paid, sometimes the kids are cute
Overworked employees, little opportunity for advancement
The overall job is fun and being able to make a difference in each child's life is fulfilling. However, there is little room for advancement, raises aren't given as told in the beginning, pay is low.
Children learning and growing....teachers are excellent
Managers and staff were nice and teachers really cared about children. The centet was safe parents had to be signed in and out doors had key pad lock that could only be used by staff and custodial parent. Managaassistant kept a good rapport at all times with employees and parent.

They care about making families happy. They do not believe employees. Constantly moving kids before parents know about it to balance ratio.they want teachers to watch kids and if kids destroy posters etc they blame it on teachers.

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
I worked at Kinder Care Totem lake for 16 months. Management was poor and the work place was dysfunctional. After a Left, one of the parents who still had their daughter enrolled there said it was like the inmates were running the prison. It got really bad. they charge large fees and the children are not the first ones thought of, its how much money the company can make.
Kindercare was a great base for anyone who wants to get into childcare or who have a great love of working with kids. The employees were great for the most part beside a few. The assistant manager is amazing with what she does and super helpful! 10/10 recommend this job and would possibly come back in the near future
There are high expectations as a KinderCare teacher, which is to be expected as you're taking care of other people's children. The wages for teachers at KinderCare are very low. All teachers are college educated, yet most barely make above minimum wage.
Management only concerned with enrolling more children even when a room was full or not enough staff. Management would not assist with behavior issues or follow DCF contagious disease policies. Management seems to be poorly trained and did not attempt to learn state regulations.
I applied through an online job board. There were some adjustment problems as I thought there would only be women employees (not that I am not ok about it) but the company is quite open minded and helps struggling individuals especially high schoolers with training and benefits as needed. It needs more communication and equality amongst its employees.
