Working at K-Mart is physically demanding job but that hardly becomes a problem because the working environment is fun and the employees are welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone who was interested in working at K-Mart to work there as every aspect of the job is both enjoyable and rewarding.
The people who work there with you
Great place to work. Absolutely loved it there. Pay is fair, good management team (depends on store) HR team is awesome. Staff are all friendly too. No complaints
Pay, makes you lose weight, team lunches/dinners all paid for every now and then
Staff discount is only 5%
I worked at Kmart over the Christmas period so it was really busy with customers left right and centre. I enjoyed this as I love to keep busy and help people so at the time Kmart was the right place for me as I got to meet a lot of people and help others as well which is what I do.
This is a great place to start for anyone who is willing to be in the retail business. Great Family environment with a lot of smart people who care about your future and the world in general. Would recommend this job to anyone in the retail business.
I loved working at kmart it was a great store to work at and a great company. The only down fall is that they were always understaffed on nightshift. Everyone that's works there were great people who were always there for me. They were like my family.
Worked at Kmart Bethlehem for around 2 years. Meet an amazing bunch of people. Store manager changed halfway through my time there. Original store manager was amazing, very well respected. Current store manager is a pig. Is only concerned about the operation of the store (which he puts minimal effort into) with little regard to the toll it takes on his staff.

Overall there were great people to work with, but management needed a bit more work. A typical day at work was a busy one but was mainly in the stockroom sorting out loads.
great people to work with
Unfair hours and mistreated at times
Working for Kmart taught me customer service and the importance of multi-tasking. It was my first experience at everything, working at cash tills, customer service, merchandising to knowing the difference between clothing brands to products etc. It was an amazing experience and every day was busy so I did feel under pressure at times but it was good for me. I learnt fast!
Dealing with customers on a daily basis helps you deal with many things for example; * fear- if you are not used to talking to people. * communication - how well you communicate to people makes all the difference between making a sale or not. * open mind - helps to be open minded because no 2 days are the same.
