PwC SDC is a terrible place to work

The management there is terrible. From a Director who has no idea what he is doing to the `Assurance manager who is full of herself, as well as an HR person that is generally a terrible human being

Stressful but able to obtain quality knowledge and experiences

Stressful in term of rushing deadline and no appreciation. However, is good to join and trained up in quality learning environment which can help to proceed to next career development.

good learning

different industry exposure. You'll work on “great projects.” It has “good colleagues” who are “very smart, talented people,” and “the technology is the very best of its class.” ... PwC is a “great resume-booster” with a “good reputation and exit opportunities in the accounting field.

Great work atmosphere

The best part about PwC is the people, youthful environment and flexibility. The company does demand a lot though, and there is often a requirement to work overtime in busy periods.

Unprofessional Assurance Managers at PwC London SDC

Assurance Managers at PwC London SDC are highly unprofessional. They don't have experience working in a corporate environment. They'll treat you like they own you. Senior Management is not even bothered to oversee their work. They hired them as technical managers but they act like admin managers. Environment is super political. Managers and Director promotes favoritism. They'll just assign you work and don't provide you any kind of help with that. They don't even know what assurance is. They find excuses to fire you. I WON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO PEOPLE

Cons

Very Long Hours, Unprofessional Managers, No Training, Political Environment, Favoritism

Poor Management of Assurance Department- Unprofessional and Non Skilled Managers - No Growth

i am working as an Assurance Supervisor at PwC Canada London SDC. There is no professional growth. Managers usually hire people who are their friends. Salary is super low. If you are diploma holder with 1 or less year of experience, this is a good place to start your career but don't expect that you'll be promoted to a senior position with good salary within 7-8 years. Employee turnover is 92% because of low salary. There is one confusion among people who are doing CPA that they can count working hours towards their CPA hours, this is not the case. CPA Ontario doesn't approve London SDC hours towards CPA as this place is supposed to work on admin stuff related to assurance and tax instead of actual work. Assurance Managers and Directors don't value the work you do.

Pros

Long Hours - Daily 13 hours minimum or 70 hours/week

Cons

None

It has been a great experience for me. There is lot to learn over various different aspects. People and Management are very helpful and considerate. If someone is eager to learn then there is a lot of scope to grow in PWC. Work life balance is very good and its really enjoyable out here at PWC.

Knowledge based environment, fast paced and excellent culture

As a network company of PricewaterhouseCoopers - arguably the largest professional services company in the world, PwC is simply a great place to work. It is the market leader in the provision of Assurance Services in Nigeria and prides itself with a great training culture and providing excellent international exposure to its staff which promotes diversity and cultural integration. Busy periods which lasts about 5-7 months a year could see Assurance staff work 15 hour days however this is adequately compensated for during periods of slack. It's indeed a learning environment.
