Great place to start your career!

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Top notch organization that invests heavily in the development of their employees.I was also extremely impressed with PwC's commitment to being an industry leader in technological innovation and development. The software applications used to execute our work were internally developed and top of the line.

Corporate Environment

PwC was a corporate company and had proper corporate environment. Team dynamics and communication was of utmost importance. The seniors were really helpful and mentored us. Work life balance was okay but sometimes like in busy season we had to work beyond our working hours. Apart from that everything was very nice.

Poor Management, understaffed and overworked.

PwC is not a great place to start off your career. You will be belittled and made to feel as if you are a worthless piece of garbage. You will receive extraordinarily low pay for the long hours that are required of this job. I worked for PwC for 4 years and have my CPA designation yet I don't know of anybody who was paid the same as or lower than I was - including new graduates and entry level postion workers. Further, everything is hidden from employees including performance assessments and reasons for bonuses and promotions. This is because the majority of the time employees are rewarded for who they know and not how they contribute - although there are a few standout employees who occasionally will receive the praise they deserve. The more work you accomplish, the more gets put onto you until you reach a point where you are punished because you can no longer finish all of your own work, the work of your managers, and at the same time assist your associates. There is a reason why the firm has very high turnover rates and that most people leave before completing 4 years. In addition to this, there is an issue at the company of retaining high performing staff which results in the promotion of incompetent individuals to manager positions. The only enjoyable part of this job are attending the company social events where you will often be rewarded with one or two free beverages.

Open workspace with unlimited learning opportunities

I have been with PWC for 2.5 years and have enjoyed my time here so far. I have made a lot of new friends (from associates to managers). There are many learning opportunities, and managers are willing to support you when you express interest in a different line of service. Hours are flexible, but there is a lack of work-life balance overall due to constant deadlines. Staff turnover is high, but this is expected.

Pros

Learning opportunities, team effort to meet deadlines, lifetime friends, flexible hours

Cons

Lack of work-life balance

challenging, tiring but help you grow very fast

Promotion in PwC is more like yearly. They have different responsibilities for each level that you need to fulfill. Therefore, you will have a great opportunity to get in touch with different things and have takeaways every day. And it might be challenging for some people who need a better work-life balance & a more chill working style.

Great experience

There is a lot about the firm that is great. It is a great culture that values collaboration (below the partner level), that truly values diversity of its employees, and that is very collegial. It also has a strong brand in the market. It is a place where you can build a great career if you can deliver great work, excel at networking across the firm, and can build partner support. Exceptional employees are the "average" here, so if you aren't knocking it out of the park all the time then you can expect to only be rated in the middle of the pack, and receive nominal raises and performance bonuses.

Pros

Well respected job, good promotion, good incentives

Cons

Long working hours

Great place to build your experience

I have been working at PwC full-time. Pros Great upward mobility for entry level positions. Lots of opportunity to move to various groups within company to learn different specialities (advisory, audit, tax, or different industry focuses). Company has invested money in good training programs to not only learn your industry, but to also learn about emerging technology. Cons Expect extremely long hours.

Rewarding but huge sacrifice of personal life

- Heavy workload, there is no peace of mind during annual leave as urgent emails popping out every day. - stiff leaving curve and high chance of career advancement every year. - Good coaching culture from Manager, Directors & Partners. - Reasonable remuneration but come with a huge sacrifice of personal life and health. - Stressful working environment. - Unreasonable tight deadline that forces staff to work overtime mid night almost everyday during peak period. It comes with a huge negative of body and mind.

Pros

Many company events and reasonable remuneration package.

Cons

Long hours, no rest

This is a great place to start and get experience, but it takes a particular person to stay. The hours are long and if you're not careful, you can burn yourself out very quickly.

Pros

potential annual bonus for everyone, job security, reputation

Cons

workaholic environment, difficult to maintain work-life balance

Great starting point

Work is interesting; hours are long. PwC is a great workplace for those that are motivated and ambitious, as well as those interested in pursuing audit as a career choice. Also a great place to meet clients.
