Productive and fun place to work

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Day goes by very fast as we are always busy but with great peers and rich resources, there are always opportunities to learn and improve my skills. Especially with the tax reform, PWC rolls out tons of learning and training sessions for us to be able to assist our clients efficiently.

Great room for advancement, management who cares, not the best work-life balance (also not bad for big 4)

There is interesting work and people seem to care about us being happy and growing. You do need to be careful occasionally with politics. Work-life balance isn't terrible - people are understanding. But like any big 4 company, the hours are not the best.

Pros

Good benefits (free phone, payment on student loans, etc)

Cons

bureaucracy and long hours

Good team, horrible work/life balance

Working in Big 4 is not sunshine and rainbows. PwC is a very fast paced environment which means you learn a lot but expectations to work 50+ hours a week in non-busy season are still prevalent. Tax has 2 busy seasons out of the year (April 15 and October15/November 15). The latter busy season you are working 80-110 hours per week for 2-3 months straight.

Pros

team members; promotions;

Cons

pay; work life balance

I must it is a good place to upon, only one should be always free to accept automation tool. Few more things to work upon then it will be great place to work.

Decent for its industry

They are honest about what to expect. Nice coworkers but long hours. Ability to move between depts. Advice: try to generalize more and avoid specifying too early.

Competitive

Good place to get new challenges which can be taken as opportunity to prove an individual's potential. Hard work is never gets noticed here, its always you need to market yourself. There are lot of good parties to enjoy though. So its a okay place to earn money.

Good organization to work with.

It's been my first job with PWC and the overall experience has been good to be associated. Being a very reputed brand, it's a dream come true to work with PwC.

Intense, fast paced environment

It's a great starting place to be in one's career. After a certain amount of time, people will be burned out due to intense overtime and continuous busy season.

Shared Delivery Center - FL

The hardest part of the job at PwC Shared Delivery Center was knowing that the same growth opportunities and compensation were not available to the tax professionals employed there.

Another Big 4 Firm

What can I say about my time at PwC. It is the same as any of the other Big 4 firms. As long as you get along with your team (and their dynamic) you'll excel here very well. Otherwise be weary of in-office politics.

PwC Review

Pros: 1. Good experience comes quickly 2. Working with many people/great connections 3. Work on big name clients 4. Lots of work events/trainings/conferences. PwC invests $ in its people. 5. Flexibility to work from home and come in earlier/later depending on the engagement team Cons: 1. Client serving, therefore always trying to please clients 2. Work under tight deadlines with the expectation of putting work deadlines above personal plans/events 3. Pressure to over-perform and work on several engagements, each with a different team, simultaneously 4. Busy season with approximately 70-85 hour work weeks

Fast paced and lots of opportunities to move up

In the tax compliance group you will learn a lot through the volume of work that you will do. You will have a lot of late nights during busy season. Depending on what type of managers you work for, they could make the work more difficult than it is.

Great introduction to the accounting field.

It was a great foundation for my tax accounting experience. My organizational and documentation skills are what they are today /c of my audit experience at PW. Additionally, my seniors provided me with guidance on documentation and general auditing knowledge..

Great training house, hard work-life balance

Things you hear about public accounting are all true at PwC. There's great opportunity to learn, but depending on which geographic location you're in and which department you're in, you are very likely to work very long hours.

Pros

learning, training is great

Cons

lower pay, not much work-life balance

Good People BUT Work Hard

PwC is a great Big Four accounting firm. The people are hardworking & are striving to offer employees effective work life balance. You can learn a great deal working at this company

Typical Big Four

Fine company, lots of opportunity to learn and grow. Sometimes that opportunity comes with a bit too much expectation. High turnover, too loosely managed. Managers in over their heads with little to no support necessary to complete job adequately. Too much turmoil within.
