The last season i worked on the Mt i was working 30 hours per two weeks and only getting payed on average $600. Thats $600 every two weeks.
It worked out like thing.

600-(150 rent pw x2 =300) =300

300-(75 food pw x2=150)=150

150-(75 gas (only if i didnt go anywhere expt work bus stop and home))=75

$75 remaing for phone bills, saving, treats and any other expenses.

When the management was told this and how all the team is struggling just to stay we got told thats it was there problem and that we need to deal with it.

There are a million reason why i would not recommend working at Mt Rhuapehu untill they do a complete reconstruction of the company or a new company takes over.

Provided excellent service to the guests and workers treated well through-out each work day. Great company that cares for their employees and on a day-to-day basis, operate at an efficient level which proved difficult in the face of ever-changing weather conditions.

I guess the best thing about this job was the season pass. If you love the mountain and the snow it's definitely for you, cause you will be able to stand the rest: awful staff accommodation, terrible management

I worked in the food and Bev Department and this review is for that department only, it was absolutely shocking! Definately the worst job ive had so far, understaffed, your overworking yourself, bad pay, i felt like i was doing a daylight robbery because the food prices were waay too expensive, the only good thing about that place is the really friendly workmates.
Pros
Beautiful lovely workmates, staff gatherings, skiing
Cons
weather dependant
