Great casual job for school leavers and university students who have a flexible timetable. I learned active listening and customer service. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people and helping them prepare for a life-changing moment like interviews or weddings through wardrobe and stylistic choices. The hardest part was having to travel to other places and stores to make up more hours. Great opportunities to expand customer service skills!
Great place to work for a first job to get your foot in the door for work experience. But management was poorly managed, manger was passive aggressive and there were times I had to work over my shift time without pay. Was also made to feel bad about missing budgets, was told once to buy something with my own money to make budget and was so stressful it made me breakdown and cry. Honestly would not recommend working here.
First time experience
Poor management, no further training, favouritism, manipulative and passive aggressive and mentally draining.
My time at Just as an Administrator was nothing but very enjoyable. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by a really well lead manager and a wonderful team members.Due to COVID19 most of my team worked from home hence meetings and training took place online but it was still very productive.I felt that everyone is very knowledgeable and professional and I was very happy to be part of hard working company.
Great manager and team members
Since day one with the Just Group, it has been a horrible experience. I was a store manager, was very unsupported with a very difficult store. There would be weeks on end I wouldn’t see the VM and AM wouldn’t answer the phone. I stepped down to a Casual role and I dread every time I have to do a shift. The gossiping and bullying that happens in this company is disgusting. If your not in the clique then you don’t matter.
Bullying, can not confide in Area Managers, Gossipy, rude
Worked as a ptimer for just 5 months then became manager. Was never probably trained and when I wanted to leave to persue a better career they SIGNED a perminant contract in my behalf. I was working under NO contract pretty much my whole time of employment non working security cameras. Non working toilet. Non drinkable water onsite. Estremly cold during winter because no heating. Extremely hot during summer because no AC

Working at the just group has been an amazing experience and I’m even about to go into an assistant Manger role there. However, the pay and hours just don’t support me well enough financially so I am looking for a second job that won’t clash
When management decide they don’t like you, they’ll do anything they can to get rid of you. Horrible work environment if you have a bad team and bad management. I had a manager that would complain about every employee to each employee, then swear non stop calling employees f***ing b*tch’s and other very nasty names! It was absolutely soul destroying!!
I worked at Just Jeans which arguably is the best and worst of all the Just Group stores to work for. It’s good because the incentives are quite good, but are hard to obtain. But the worse because the work load is much more than that of somewhere like Smiggle, but the pay is the same. You start on minimum wage, and you stay on minimum wage, regardless of your sales or how long you have worked there the amount of work expected of you is not worth the pay.
Cons: - understaffed - high expectations - bad pay - no rewards - hard tasks - high stress - little support from regionals worked here for 4 years and never had a pay rise???? and within the whole stress, I was overworked and underpaid. There have been many times I have managed the store and got no appreciation. I have worked so much overtime and was never compensated for my hard work, or given recognition. Pretty bad with shift hours to, 3-hour shifts to, if you have to travel it's not worth it. People will throw you under the bus like it's your fault if you don't make the targets for the day. Individual and group KPI can be unreasonable sometimes. I have worked in many stores and was never rewarded for my success, or given some recognition for making great sales and exceeding budgets for the day. Unless you want to be underpaid, highly stressed and be in an intense work environment I would look elsewhere.
Inspect all incoming merchandise and shipping materials, unloading the containers and scanning for Put-away and wrapping the pallets. • Place items in correctly sized crates and containers for shipping to customer destinations. • Accurately complete all paperwork and continuously use wrist and hand scanners to document changes. • Inventory incoming and outgoing items and picking and binning. • Use warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, and reaches safely
- I was employed with The Just Group for just over 3 years. Zero or little care was showen towards their loyal and hardworking staff, overworking them to utter exhaustion without a thought to the mental and physical state. Regionals and Senior members will throw store management under the bus rather than looking closer at the real issues as to why not all tasks were completed on time especially during busy periods (school holidays, Easter and Christmas break). - EXTREME pressure placed on myself and team with ridiculous and unrealistic expectations due to constant staff shortages and hours being trimmed down to “CUT COSTS for the business” to only a 3 hour cover for a second staff member to help and allow for a lunch break (which more often than not was not taken) due to all the daily tasks which include: - 20+ boxes of stock to unpack. - Steaming product and tagging. - Greeting all customers in store and providing a A grade service aswell as monitoring any loss prevention issues. - Constantly striving to hit unattainable budgets and keeping all members motivated with little reward from Head Office. - Don’t expect to ever get paid for any of you over time, which unfortunately you will need to put in if you wish for your store to be successful. Sometimes even staying behind till 10pm, or any gratitude as Regional managers are quick to point out that it is your choice to stay behind and/or go in early, however pressuring you to make this decision by comparing your figures and tasks that were unable to be completed that day with other stores who have far more hours - more...
Poor management. When I couldn’t do more hours because of personal reasons the manager was not compassionate at all. Made you feel bad if anything. Hired me as a causal then when someone went on holidays , picked up more hours but were MADE to go permanent part time ( less $$ per rate ). Then when they finished using you back onto casual rate working minimum hours. They do this constantly and for them it’s ok to do. They
