Great staff to work with but the original owners were no help and Hilton wouldn’t help since it was franchise. Under paid and over worked. Couldn’t keep the hotel properly staffed

Poor and unfair management

Management does not care about there employees will leave you without help and in a bind will never answer the phone even in an emergency situation but will make sure they watch the time clock so you don’t get overtime

What is the best part of working at the company?I would have to say most of employees. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?No comuication between front desk and housekeeping. Concert nights are very stressful. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Nobody stays long. A lot of call offs. Makes it hard on other employees What is a typical day like for you at the company?Im a public space worker. Time I get there. The place is Hot mess.

Pay , work ,

I feel like people are under paid especially housekeepers 10$hr , cause when no one feels like pulling laundry or doing laundry it all falls on them to not only CLEAN the rooms , but you have to pull the dirty sheets as well , constantly go back and forth for everything you need then they expect you to be done at a certain time

Chill laid back hotel

Compared to many other hotel chains I love how Tru is a lot more relaxed. The dress code is literally a Tru shirt and jeans. Everyone I work with has a great personality and communication is awesome.

Terrible place to work

Management is terrible, homeless people all around, loves to overwork for little pay, and no care for their workers! Never work here ! They treat all staff like they don’t matter

The people are cool

Nice place to work and the staff is really nice and helpful. They help when a customer needs help. And it's around nice places to eat...I would definitely recommend this place

Great 2nd Job

Hospitality is one of the worst compensated & underappreciated fields. Tru/Hilton is no different. Do not expect any decent benefits or pay raises & pray you have fun management and productive team members. They will force you to cross train to complete jobs not listed on the posted Job description without additional pay. Hardest part of the job is learning the system if you're new and dealing with upset guests. Management can be lazy and refuse to put in physical work despite superior pay. I'd suggest you learn quick & leave your mark to become a leader & move up or make this a 2nd Job.

Poor management

Management doesn't communicate efficiently especially the GM. The owner has favoritism and would promote people not deserving of the position. The GM has no structure and doesn't know how to lead subordinates

Easy

Overall this job paid me well but for the most part I could not finish sometimes because lack of supplies and having to wait for restocks. It was difficult to manage time with lots of rooms and barely any supplies

Great place to work, management are fantastic

I've worked here for a little under two years, and absolutely love it. Get to meet interesting people, coworkers are great to work with, and management actually works hard. GM would not expect you to do something that she herself would not do. This is probably one of the best jobs I've had.

No leadership

Housekeeping management is not supportive of the staff. Your being rushed to do work. Never make enough hours even with the rate of pay. No good leadership at this site. Gossip and nonsense

Discouraged

I feel discouraged when a new employee demonstrates less skills than i but gets promoted. Ive been told same posistion is no longer available from management. Promotion from within is very rare. Unfortunitly being lied to is the norm for this hotel. Also , I've been working here for over 2 years, somebody comes in to start, unqualified, no experience, who I usually train, and they make the same on the hour and offered better shifts.The pros, its fairly close to home and the review promotion I do well with.

Free game of pool that’s pretty much it that’s it what more do you want me to say the place was a hot mess people messy always talking about employees behind their backs the gm rather throw the food away then let the employees have it

Inclusive and Helpful

This is the first place I have worked where it feels like people enjoy being there; however, the off property management company is very absent. On property managers are seem stressed some days because of this. It's not perfect but definitely a great place to work. The other employees are nice and the managers are fun. The owner of the property stops in once and a while to just see how things are going and is so incredibly kind and sincere. There is no place like this especially in Spokane.

Toxic environment

It was nice to where jeans and tshirt to work, however manager loves to get employees to gossip. Then will play confused when confronted about it. Manager has favorites and they get the best schedule and treatment. Look elsewhere if you should. If working over night manager doesn’t want to be bothered over major issues, but then gets mad at any choice you make.

Great for the experience it brought

Housekeeper Manager was wonderful but head manager over the hotel was awful wasn’t use to being in leadership and it showed! Petty , childish! Um the were really fair with scheduling either and only care about you working not work life balance

Fun, Engaging, and What you make of it.

This property's management and employees are a fun group to be a part of. This is more than running a hotel. It's lifting people to their highest potential.

Hard work for low pay

Unfairly compensated for hard work. Short staffing ensures heavy workloads almost daily. Guests seldom tip so your 9.00 an hour wage is all you get. Raises are mentioned upon hire but not given.
