bureaucracy at its worst
Deputy Works Supervisor - Lower Waikato - RCS (Former Employee) –  Hamilton, Waikato25 June 2016
never again would i return to the WRC, i wasted 10 years of my life.
The mentality of some of the groups there is a mix of 'shortland street' and play center. Double standards and nepotism run wild, if only the rate payers could see what goes on behind closed doors they would be shut down.......
There are some factions there that do fantastic work but a majority are cruising on overpaid salaries.
Pros
the people you work with out side of office ie; farmers/rate payers
Cons
stress, bullys and butt lickers

Not dynamic
Part-time Contractor (Current Employee) –  Hamilton, N14 September 2015
Councils are generally big unwieldy getting tied up in meetings and failing to achieve objectives.
Strategic Plans lead to more strategic plans without implementation of Strategic Plans... this leads to a low moral.
ELT and Councillors do not have the experience or understanding to achieve objectives due to their personal agenda/perspective.

Sad that they do not recognize that their staff are also tax payers.
Pros
work family balance.
Cons
not productive
