Developed effective working relationships and high performance of the 13 member Finance Department and a team budget of $1.5M;
Completed the conversion to IFRS, one of the first Council’s to complete their Annual Report by working with Audit NZ and supporting staff through the process.
During the rates review engaged with stakeholder groups including Federated Farmers to present and take them through rating options. Successfully implemented the change from land to a hybrid basis using capital value for the general rate.
Enjoyed managing the treasury function; monitored and reported on treasury exposure, cash/liquidity interest rate risk position and cash flow forecasting. Negotiated derivative and loan funding, negotiated $35million loans, $20m committed cash advance facility and $25m in swaps;
Managed the implementation of the 10 year corporate planning system using Ozone, a project based management system.
