Developed effective working relationships and high performance of the 13 member Finance Department and a team budget of $1.5M; Completed the conversion to IFRS, one of the first Council’s to complete their Annual Report by working with Audit NZ and supporting staff through the process. During the rates review engaged with stakeholder groups including Federated Farmers to present and take them through rating options. Successfully implemented the change from land to a hybrid basis using capital value for the general rate. Enjoyed managing the treasury function; monitored and reported on treasury exposure, cash/liquidity interest rate risk position and cash flow forecasting. Negotiated derivative and loan funding, negotiated $35million loans, $20m committed cash advance facility and $25m in swaps; Managed the implementation of the 10 year corporate planning system using Ozone, a project based management system.
