About the Role
We’re a small, values-driven accounting practice that believes good systems, quality work, and flexibility make for happier accountants (and better outcomes for clients).
At Lyttelsoft, accountants do what accountants are trained to do:
prepare financial statements and tax returns, review and balance bookkeeping work, and talk to clients like real humans.
If you’re looking for autonomy, realistic workloads, and a supportive, low-ego environment — you’ll feel right at home.

- Reviewing, reconciling, and balancing bookkeeping prepared by others
- Identifying and resolving accounting and tax issues
- Ensuring compliance with NZ tax legislation and professional standards
Client Advisory & Communication
- Working directly with clients to explain financial results and tax positions
- Responding to queries clearly, practically, and on time
- Offering proactive insights (when it adds value — not just noise)
- Building strong, long-term client relationships
Practice & Systems
- Working efficiently in Xero and cloud-based systems
- Maintaining tidy, accurate workpapers
- Meeting deadlines without last-minute heroics
- Contributing ideas to improve how we do things

- Values flexibility, balance, and doing quality work properly
What We Offer
